About The Author

Stephen Bandstra is a nerd. He earned his nerd cred the usual way, by playing Runescape in middle school while the popular kids formed cliques without him and using Sharpie markers to color his nails black. If you told young Stephen that his debut novel would contain a distinct lack of shadow demons, edge lords, and gratuitous man pain, he’d probably roll his eyes and sulk in his hoodie.

In 2018, Stephen co-founded Dump Stat Adventures, a tabletop role-playing blog dedicated to homebrew content, deep dives into the history of Dungeons & Dragons monsters, and hard-earned Game Master wisdom. His love for storytelling, world-building, and rolling dice against the cruel whims of fate continues to shape his work.

Stephen lives in Michigan with his love, Mahalia, his dogs, Minnow and Leviathan, and his cat, Rory. When he's not writing, you can find him lurking on Reddit and Discord.
